Vanderbilt University Public Safety and the Mobility and Transportation Office plan to hold scooter and bike safety classes throughout the year. Both classes will be taught by VUPD bike trained instructors. Scooter Safety Class • Includes a presentation portion where participants will learn how to responsibly and safely ride and park scooters on and off campus and an active portion where participants will have the opportunity to test out scooters in a controlled outdoor environment. • Scooters and helmets will be provided. • An incentive, such as ridership credit from one of the scooter companies, may be given to participants who take the class. • Class usually takes two (2) hours. Bike Safety Class • Designed by the League of American Cyclists • Includes a presentation portion and an active portion where participants will go on a group bike ride. • Participants must bring their own bikes and helmets. • Class usually takes two (2) hours.
