Our main priority is the safety of our Vanderbilt University student body/community, and we recognize that the current situation may create unanticipated financial challenges. Undergraduate, graduate and professional students with demonstrated need through the FAFSA and/or PROFILE financial aid applications are eligible to apply for funding from the Student Hardship Relief Fund.
If you are in need of financial assistance, please complete the form below. Please note that the maximum award that can be made from this fund is $500.
What Is the COVID-19 Student Hardship Fund?
• If a student with demonstrated need has experienced unexpected financial hardship due to COVID-19 (including the transition to hybrid classrooms), you can apply for a maximum award of $500 from the fund.
• Students who received an award in the 2019-2020 year are eligible to also apply for up to $500 in the 2020-2021 year. Some previously accepted applications include quarantine housing, internet expenses in off-campus apartments, and emergency travel expenses.
What expenses are eligible?
• Off campus quarantine/isolation housing: If you or a roommate contracts COVID-19 and you must self-isolate, the student hardship fund may reimburse you up to $500 for other temporary housing arrangements.
• Wifi and other necessary equipment for off campus learning.
• Unanticipated travel costs (Travel to and from campus at the beginning and end of the semester is included in aid packages already).
What expenses are not eligible?
• Expenses that are part of the normal cost of attending Vanderbilt. These include tuition, fees, housing, meals, books, travel and personal expenses.
• Expenses during periods of time in which you are not enrolled (winter break, summer break).
• Expenses that are not related to the pandemic.
