VUSE Alumni Mentor Program Code of Conduct

The Alumni Mentor program is a meaningful volunteer opportunity for Vanderbilt engineering alumni to engage in mentorship with current Vanderbilt engineering students.

In order to participate, you must review and agree to abide by the Code of Conduct and Vanderbilt Protection of Minors policy.


This participant agrees to the following:

  • Maintain respectful communications with other users.

  • Contact program staff right away if you have any immediate concerns about the health

  • and safety of a particular student.

  • Limit use of personal information to university-approved purposes only. Prohibited use of information or communication includes any solicitation or commercial, public, or political outreach.


Refrain from activities which include, but are not limited to:
  • Illegal or fraudulent activities.

  • Providing information or communication that can be confused as official statistics and/or communications of Vanderbilt University, Vanderbilt School of Engineering, or the Vanderbilt Alumni Association.

  • Printings or electronic mass mailings (also known as “spamming”), advertising, or solicitations for fundraising, political purposes, religious purposes, commercial services, or cold-calling.

  • Discrimination based on age, gender, race, sexual orientation, military status, national origin, ethnic, religious, or cultural background.

  • Harassment, hate speech, or other threatening activities.

  • Activities that violate others’ privacy
