The Graduate Department of Religion is currently accepting applications for three Master Teaching Fellows.

The Vanderbilt Divinity School and Graduate Department of Religion has received a 2 Year grant from The Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion.

The grant purpose: Pedagogical Mentoring for Diverse Institutional Contexts

The three master teaching fellows (two 3rd year and one 4th year) will be identified to support the project. However, 5th year students are also encouraged to apply. The master teaching fellows will lead four colloquies during the 2017-2018 AY, in collaboration with professors Byrd and Hamman. The three master teaching fellows will also lead another four colloquies during the 2018-2019 AY. The colloquies will build upon the ones offered in Year 1 (2017-2018).

Rate of Pay: $563.00/per month ($2250/per semester)

Hours: Approximately 10-20 hours per month


Basic requirements to apply:

(1) Attended the Teaching Assistant Orientation offered by the department and the Center for Teaching.
(2) Attended the practicum offered by the GDR Master Teaching Fellow.
(3) Satisfied the departmental service requirement of serving as TA in three courses.
(4) Must have received a satisfactory or higher on any evaluations submitted for you while serving as a Teaching Associate.
(5) Must be available to attend all colloquies, workshops, luncheons, etc. that are scheduled throughout the grant.
